Digitisation of paper receipts is allowed under conditions that guarantee identical reproduction. To guarantee the integrity of the receipts, each document must be kept in PDF format with an accompanied digital timestamp. Digital record keeping can be done through a mandated third party.

According to Article L102B of the book of tax procedures, records should be kept for 6 years.
