In January 2024, the Rydoo team got together in Belgium to celebrate the great achievements of the previous year. We had hit major growth milestones, successfully launched Rydoo Cards, and much more. After two full days of rekindling our team spirit and brainstorming for the year ahead, everyone buckled up and got to work to reach all the targets we had set for 2024.
A lot has happened since then. The European Union passed the AI Act, Spain took the EURO Cup home, Oppenheimer won seven Oscars, and a man from Turkey took centre stage during the summer with his air pistol skills in the Olympics. And while we all saw these major events unfold, Rydoo’s team also reached some major milestones worth celebrating before we bid farewell to 2024 and say hello to 2025.
From more than 27 million processed expenses to a 94% customer satisfaction score, we’ve changed how our customers around the world manage their expenses. With features that slash processing times and boost efficiency, finance teams can focus on what really matters: making their business grow.
Let’s go back in time and look at the highlights of Rydoo’s 2024.
Over 27 million expenses submitted
From the very first day of the year, our users have so far submitted over 27 million expenses — 27,559,640, to be more precise. For every team lunch, office purchase, daily allowance or software license, Rydoo has been there.
That’s 27 million invoices that didn’t get lost, 27 million receipts that didn’t end up on the finance team’s desks pile, and 27 million times businesses trusted us with their expenses. But it’s more than just a number: it shows how expense management can be easy and effective for the whole team.
We’ve also processed over 5 million card transactions this year, avoiding out-of-pocket spending for employees and giving finance teams even more control over budgets before spending happens.
Faster expenses = more productivity
We’ve made it our mission to make expense management easy, efficient, and fast. Users can submit expenses in as little as 10 seconds, a great difference compared to using Excel or outdated technology, which can take up to a minute.
The whole expense process — from submission to approval and processing — which translates into 70% higher productivity. What does this mean? According to our latest research, businesses save over 30,000 hours a year on processing expenses.
This allows teams to shift their focus to more impactful tasks and makes them happier. As Renate Mortier, Accounts Payable Manager at TVH, stated, “Our employees are happier because they get their reimbursements quicker, and our finance team can focus on more strategic tasks rather than getting bogged down with paperwork.”
Real impact, real results
Every business has a story. Different industries, countries, regulations, policies, requirements, necessities, and, above all, different people. As a customer-first company, we work hard to make all our users feel valued by being available at all times, and customers love it.
Our customer support team has a 94% satisfaction score, with customers sharing testimonials on platforms such as Gartner, TrustPilot, and G2, as well as our case studies about our team’s impact on their experience.
“The customer service, which I occasionally use via the chat function, responds within minutes and is always very quick and helpful”, said Joost de Jong, Head of SAP Coordination/Accounting and Invoice Verification Team Leader at ARAG. “If there is something we need to discuss with the technical team, it can take a little longer, but there has never been an issue that hasn’t been resolved.
Rydoo Smart Audit: bringing AI into expense management
Launching new features is not something Rydoo’ers take lightly. When we set our minds to adding something new to our product, we know it needs to bring great value to our customers. We did it with Rydoo Cards in 2023, and in 2024, we stepped into the world of AI to bring our very own expense monitoring assistant: Rydoo Smart Audit.
It was a major milestone for the team and for all those who’ve been using it. With Smart Audit, expenses are automatically analysed and flagged if they are not compliant with the company policy. All this in a matter of seconds.
Since the launch in May, over 1 million expenses have been audited. This has saved countless hours for finance teams, who no longer need to review every claim manually. They are now more efficient, productive, and thrilled to work with the most advanced technology.
New features changing the game for finance
Did we stop at Smart Audit? Not a chance. The team continued adding great features throughout the year. From new power user pages, templates, push notifications and scheduled exports, we’ve done it all. And no, we didn’t forget our mobile app, of course.
Here are some of the new features announced in 2024.
New power user expense pages
Approvers, controllers, directors, and finance teams got a sleek and intuitive new design to match the personal expense pages.
Along with the design, these new pages have improved performance and a new architecture that will ensure compatibility with future features.
Templates
Extracting reports with multiple values can be a hassle, especially when different data is included. So, our team made it easier for finance teams by adding Templates, which allow teams to extract data in the format that best suits their needs.
You can choose and reorder columns, change the header name, and save the template. Then, it’s as easy as selecting your preferred template when exporting a report. It’s that simple.
Trips on mobile
Remember the good old days when you had to use a computer to manage all the expenses from your trips? Well, now you can do that on the Rydoo app. Tap “Add Trip” on the app to get started.
On that page, you also have an overview of all trips, which can be edited or deleted. You can also create expenses from a trip and view all the expenses linked to it.
Reminder notifications
When was the last time you forgot to submit an expense? No judgment — we’ve all been there. To avoid this, we’ve introduced new notifications on our mobile app, so users get a reminder whenever they need to submit expenses.
Looking at the future
As we wrap up an incredible 2024, we’re already gearing up for what’s next. The team is buzzing with new ideas and more ways to innovate, and we can’t wait to share them with you.
We’re not just about numbers and features — we’re about making work life easier for your team. Your feedback means the world to us, and we’ve been listening and noting all your needs. Our goal? To continue pushing the boundaries of what expense management can do for you and your business.
So, this next year, expect to see even more updates and features that will make you wonder how you ever managed expenses before.
We can’t wait to see what 2025 brings and to continue sharing this journey with you. Stay tuned for some exciting announcements.
